Quick Overview

The mixture for gastritis contains inherent, hydrastis, glomerular and marshmallow.

Product Description

Gastritis is an inflammation of the lining of the stomach. It can last for a short period, caused by an infection or consumption of a specific food, but it can also lead to a chronic problem. Causes are unhealthy eating habits, alcohol consumption, smoking and stress or usually a combination of the above mentioned factors. This problem can be treated with herbal remedies along with a healthy diet.

Diet is very important for this disease. Certain foods can cause an inflammation or irritate an existing one.

1. Avoid too hot or too cold foods and beverages as they can irritate the inflammation.

2. Avoid chemicals that could have an irritant action, such as vinegar and alcohol. Tar can also have such an action and smoking should be avoided. Very spicy foods, curry and fatty foods should also be avoided.

3. Avoid possible mechanical irritations that could be caused for example by fibers. Avoid bread rich in fibers, nuts, tomatoes etc. After the acute phase is over, it is highly advisable to consume fibers again, as they are necessary for a healthy diet.

An herbal remedy ideal for this problem consists of 2 parts of comfrey root, 2 parts of marshmallow root, 2 parts of meadowsweet and 1 part of goldenseal. To prepare an infusion, pour one cup of boiling water onto a teaspoonful of dry herbs and leave it covered for 10 minutes. Filter and drink after every meal. In case of flatulence, add 1 part of calamus and in case of stress, add 1 part of valerian to help the nerves.

Herbs considered to be effective on gastritis are mallow, calamus, marshmallow, geranium, meadowsweet, comfrey, goldenseal and elm.

We should always keep in mind though, that it is better to prevent a health problem than to treat it. The most important of all is to follow a healthy diet. Nowadays, the modern lifestyle has negatively affected our eating habits and that leads to many health problems.
